We are located near McKinney, TX about four miles southeast of the Collin County Regional Airport. Our tasting room is now open Saturdays from noon till 5 pm. We participate each year in such events as the Mesquite Rodeo in April, the Triple R Ranch wine blending event in May, the McKinney Oktoberfest and Grapevine Grapefest in September, and the State Fair and Dennison Festival in October, as well as several Munson Wine Trail www.MunsonWineTrail.com special days. Legend of the Collin Oaks
One day many years ago a Collin County farmer set an empty wine cask out to dry. When he returned for it the following spring, he discovered that a tiny oak tree had sprouted from beneath it through the tap hole. Moved by its desire for life, he left it to grow. Years later it had thrived and become a stately oak tree. Neighbors admired its robustness so much they gathered acorns from the tree and planted their own. It is said that descendents of these trees can still be found scattered throughout Collin County.
While we can find no historical basis for this story, we were so charmed by it that Collin Oaks Winery has adopted the image of the Collin Oaks to express our commitment to the enjoyment of these magnificent trees that contribute so much to the richness of our lives.
